Teaching Kids What Pets Need

pet-responsibility-teamThe Pet Responsibility Education Program, brought to Bladen County schools by A Shelter Friend, stresses good judgment, integrity, kindness, perseverance, respect and responsibility with regard to owning a pet.

Students of the program learn not only about the large number of homeless pets, but about pet health and safety, caring for pets’ needs and wants, safety around dogs and cats, and the importance of spaying and neutering pets.

The program has been hugely successful for aligning with the NC State Standards and is highly respected as a valuable addition to the curriculum of schools.

We would love to hear from educators interested in assisting with this important work.
