Who We Are 
A Shelter Friend is made up of volunteers giving pets a second chance on life. A Shelter Friend, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization working with county animal shelters of southeastern North Carolina, rescue groups and like-minded individuals, to facilitate adoptions and provide support for rescue efforts.
We believe that a world which shows empathy toward animals will show more compassion and tolerance toward each other.
We are beginning with our little corner of the world, and….
